Over the last few weeks I've regularly seen geese heading north, which seems a bit wrong at this time of year. The
explanation seems to be that they've actually finished migrating down to Scotland, and are now going out foraging during the day, returning (north) to their roosts in the evening. Although I also liked the suggestion of one lady from New England that, if the lead goose goes the wrong way, the rest all follow, adding, "Maybe, much like my husband, they don't like to ask the other geese for directions."
